Duties and Responsibilities: - Performs selected clinical support and administrative duties and assists medical providers as part of the clinical team.
- Conducts pre-visit planning (daily huddle) with provider and reviews and updates patient charts before appointment with recent test results and correspondence.
- Confers with the physician regarding any incomplete patient test/consults or other incomplete orders prior to patient visit.
- Prepares patients for examination and treatment by escorting them from the waiting area to the exam room and taking histories and vital signs.
- Prepares, cleans, and maintains supplies, equipment, exam, and treatment rooms.
- Check expiration dates on supplies and remove from use if expired.
- Perform lab and nurse visits as scheduled and complete note and lock within 24 hours
- Administers medications including injections upon physician order and perform phlebotomy.
- Performs EKGs, assist with OB/GYN exams, office procedures, and other patient care services as directed by provider and/or Director of Nursing.
- Maintains sample medication records and responds to medication requests per practice protocols.
- Coordinates care with disease management, case management programs, transportation services, outreach, population health, etc. as needed.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
- Contribute to the development of patient/significant other plan of care based on the identified patient medical issues/needs.
- Carry out physician orders accurately.
- Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of the nursing care administered relative to the patient/significant other’s identified problem/needs.
- Document pertinent observation and intervention on appropriate record.
- Comply with the ReGenesis infection control policies and procedures including Body Substance Isolation (BSI) and the exposure Control Plan which reflects OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.
- Complete indirect patient care duties between patient care, provider’s administration time, and down time including, but not limited to: checking voicemails before lunch and before end of day, checking nurse refill bucket, calling patients per providers orders, and responding appropriately to patient messages.
- Complete prior authorizations and precertification for medication and imaging as assigned.
- Order MAT injectables as prescribed by provider if working with provider who provides these services.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Assist in student shadowing as needed.
Qualifications: - Ability to maintain a positive attitude with great communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to have flexibility and willingness to work within all ReGenesis Healthcare facilities dependent on organization needs.
- Ability to travel within site locations of ReGenesis Health Care as necessary.
- Ability to work in a multicultural team.
- Valid license as an LPN in the state of South Carolina and/or Valid registration as a RMA and/or CMA in the state of SC.
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification(s).
Experience/Requirements: - One year experience in medical, surgical nursing or other area of specialty preferred.
