Job Summary
- The Lifelong Learning Assistant supports the daily marketing and administrative operations of the Lifelong Learning department. This student employee assists with creating promotional materials, supporting social media efforts, and completing general office and clerical tasks that help promote community education programs and events. This position is a great opportunity to build creative, organizational, communication, and professional office skills while contributing to community engagement and lifelong learning opportunities.
***Must eligible for Federal Work Study as defined by the Financial Aid Office.*** Key Responsibilities
Job duties may include:- Create marketing and promotional materials using Canva, including flyers, social media graphics, and other basic promotional content.
- Assist with developing and scheduling social media posts to promote Lifelong Learning courses, programs, and events.
- Help ensure marketing materials follow department and college brand guidelines.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to students, community members, and visitors at the front desk or by phone.
- Perform general clerical and administrative duties such as copying, filing, scanning, typing, organizing files, and preparing documents.
- Assist with data entry and maintaining accurate department records.
- Help organize marketing materials, office supplies, and department resources.
- Support department staff with projects, event preparation, and general administrative tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional office environment.
- Work collaboratively with department staff while managing multiple small projects and assignments.
- Other duties as assigned by department instructors and/or staff.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
What you should know:
No previous work experience is required - training will be provided! We are looking for someone who is dependable, willing to learn, able to follow directions, and works well with others in a professional office environment.

- Dependable, trustworthy, and punctual.
- Basic working knowledge of office equipment, including computers, copiers, printers, and telephones.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information and follow confidentiality requirements.
- Experience using Canva or similar graphic design platforms.
- Interest in marketing, communications, graphic design, business, or office administration.
- Experience with social media platforms and creating digital content.
- Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines in a professional setting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position is primarily performed indoors in an office environment. Duties may require sitting for extended periods, using computers and office equipment, and occasional standing, walking, or moving materials throughout the office. The employee may occasionally lift, carry, or move light items weighing up to 15–20 pounds, such as office supplies, paper, or promotional materials. The work environment is professional, collaborative, and detail-oriented, with regular interaction with staff, students, and community members.
Regular Department Hours of Operation:
Monday - Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Student employees can work up to 20 hours per week. Your work schedule will be based on your availability and the staffing needs of that department.
