Job Description

The Lift Maintenance Assistant is responsible for safely operating ski lifts per specific directions from the Lift Technicians. As a member of the Lift Maintenance team, the Assistant will provide exceptional awareness of safety and Lift Maintenance procedures. When not operating ski lifts, you will be expected to help Lift Maintenance to the best of your ability and training.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate multiple Lifts, Gondolas, Tow and Carpets for the Lift Technicians
  • Follow company/department safety policies and procedures.
  • Able to work independently or in a small group to accomplish daily job-related tasks.
  • Complete pre-operational procedures, and inspections.
  • Assist in daily set up and routine ski lift maintenance, including end of day cleanup.
  • Remain alert for radio communication and lift issues to ensure Technician safety
  • Assist with completing lift closing procedures.
  • Be self-sufficient. Come prepared for a day on the mountain (clothes, water, food, etc.)
  • Work with all mountain departments respectfully in assisting and resolving issues that could arise during the operations.
  • Safely operate ATV’s and pickup trucks upon completing required training

Qualifications:

  • 18 years or older, high school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Able to lift 25 pounds and on occasion up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • May be asked to work weekends
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
  • The employee must frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, shovel, carry, push, pull.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
