Position Summary:
The LNA Teaching Assistant provides administrative, organizational, and logistical support to the high school Career and Technical program Licensed Nursing Assistant program. This position does not provide direct instruction, but supports the instructor by helping manage program materials, preparing the skills lab, supervising students during non-instructional activities, and assisting with program operations. The goal of this role is to ensure smooth daily functioning of the LNA pathway and support student success.

This position does not provide direct instruction, but supports the instructor by helping manage program materials, preparing the skills lab, supervising students during non-instructional activities, and assisting with program operations. The goal of this role is to ensure smooth daily functioning of the LNA pathway and support student success.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Administrative Support:
- Assist the instructor with clerical tasks such as copying, filing, scheduling, record keeping, entering grades and other data entry.
- Help maintain student files, competency checklists, attendance logs, and required program documentation.
- Support communication with families, school staff, and clinical partners as directed by the instructor.
- Organize program materials, inventory supplies, and assist with ordering or tracking equipment.
Skills Lab & Classroom Support:
- Prepare and set up the skills lab for daily activities, simulations, and demonstrations.
- Keep lab spaces clean, organized, and stocked with necessary materials.
- Maintain equipment, ensure proper storage, and report needs for repair or replacement.
- Assist with safety protocols, including ensuring proper handling of equipment and supplies.
Student Support & Supervision:
- Supervise students during non-instructional times (e.g., independent practice, testing, transitions, cleanup)
- Model and promote a safe, respectful, and professional learning environment in alignment with program expectations.
- Reinforce appropriate conduct and support students in meeting behavioral and professional standards.
- Provide general assistance to students without delivering instruction or evaluating skills.
Clinical Support:
- Work with the Work Based Learning Coordinator and Assist with logistical coordination for clinical rotations, such as forms, schedules, and communication.
- Help track required documentation (immunizations, background checks, CPR certification, etc.).
- Assist Students with learning the skills necessary for State Testing.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma.
- Current Vermont Licensed Nursing Assistant License.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work with students in a supportive, professional manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety guidelines.
Preferred:
- Experience working with adolescents or in a school setting.
- Familiarity with CTE or health sciences education programs.
- Basic computer and administrative skills (Microsoft Office/Google Workspace).
