Pet Segment is searching for a Truck Driver in our Fort Dodge, IA facility. This position requires a Class A CDL making local deliveries and pick-ups
Location: 1528 Cardinal Avenue, Fort Dodge, IA 50501
Pay: $26 - $28/hour - depending on years of experience
Shift: Monday - Thursday 5:00am – 3:30pm, Friday 5:00am - 12:00pm, Overtime as needed.
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport goods between two manufacturing facilities.
- Load and unload products using appropriate equipment as needed.
- Inspect vehicles daily to ensure compliance with company and DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle inspections.
- Communicate with management regarding any delays, issues, or concerns.
- Adhere to all safety and traffic laws, as well as company policies.
- Assist with minor maintenance or troubleshooting of the vehicle, if required.
- Foster positive relationships with team members and facility staff.
- Primarily self-driven and organized to meet the needs of all the internal customer.
- Keeps track of annual trailer inspections and notifies management when they are due.
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in operating commercial vehicles, preferably in a local route or similar setting.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and local/state traffic laws.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate loading equipment safely (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
