About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Purchaser to oversee purchasing and procurement for our commercial low-voltage projects. This office-based role is responsible for ensuring materials are ordered accurately, proactively, and efficiently to support successful project execution.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in the low-voltage industry and understands the materials commonly used in CCTV, access control, structured cabling, networking, AV, and related systems. While expertise in every manufacturer or product line is not required, you should have a solid understanding of the components used in low-voltage projects, their purpose, and how they integrate into project execution.
Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing and procurement for low-voltage projects.
- Ensure materials are ordered accurately and proactively to support project timelines.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Maintain accurate inventory and warehouse records.
- Take ownership of the company's material procurement process, excluding material delivery.
- Place orders, track shipments, and coordinate materials throughout the purchasing process.
- Work closely with vendors and internal teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Proactively identify opportunities for cost savings and improved purchasing efficiency.
- Follow established purchasing processes while ensuring smooth material coordination across projects.
Annual Salary: $100,000–$110,000
Additional performance-based bonus opportunities may be available based on measurable procurement savings.
This is a full-time position based in our Lakewood, NJ office.
Requirements
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or material coordination within the low-voltage industry.
- Experience supporting commercial low-voltage projects.
- Low-voltage field or management experience is a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of materials used in CCTV, access control, structured cabling, networking, AV, and related infrastructure.
- Ability to understand the purpose of various low-voltage components and how they fit into a project.
- Familiarity with low-voltage products, materials, and manufacturers.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent organizational and coordination abilities.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage and take ownership of established purchasing processes.
