Lead Instructor

Description

Mystryde Athletic Club’s Lead Instructors are responsible for being the leaders amongst all Mystryde Instructors, both new and seasoned. Below you will find the role’s responsibilities and expectations.


Mystryde Athletic Club Instructor Training:

  • Assist with recruitment, auditions, selection and training of MAC Instructors. Assist with in person and virtual trainings
  • Preparation and readiness for Friends and Family class
  • Graduation to schedule
  • Ongoing trainings, evaluations and check ins


Instructor Evaluations:

  • Work with your designated co-lead(s) and Sr. Instructors to ensure that each MAC instructor has a class evaluation once every 4 months.
  • Evaluations will be tracked in an internal tracking sheet


Instructor Organization Leaders:

  • As a Lead Instructor, you are the point person for all other instructors
  • Work closely with your team on evaluations, workshops and any training assistance needed.
  • Weekly check-in meetings with Lauren Meyer and Sr. Instructors


Responsibilities Elaborated:

  • Lead instructors are the leaders of our instructor organization, responsible for ensuring consistency and brand integrity across the board. To do so, you are responsible for ensuring that the MAC Evaluation process is carried out. With Lauren Meyer and the Sr. Instructors, all instructors should have a class evaluated every 120 days (4 months).
  • Lead instructors will help guide Sr. Instructors in their own workshop ideas for the instructor team.
  • Lead instructors will work closely with Sr. Instructors on making each instructor “group” cohesive, like a mini team.
  • Lead instructors will work together to put on some type of instructor gathering twice a year. These could be training, development workshops, team teach, a night out at a bar, etc. that will get the team together to learn, have fun, whatever it is!
  •  You will work with Lauren Meyer on a budget for these, if needed
  • During instructor training, the Lead Instructors will assist Lauren Meyer in the coordination of audition, kickoff meetings and zoom meetings and weekly mic practices.


POWER Classes:

  • Lead Instructors are also responsible for evaluating classes in the Power Room Feedback related to programming, additional strength training, room setup and equipment goes to Marguerite.


Requirements:

  • Teach a minimum of 4 classes per week
  • Take at least one class per week
  • Super positive and can respectfully give and receive feedback
  • Genuinely care about the growth and development of Mystryde
  • Able to help with sub requests and last minute schedule juggling.
  • Approachable and friendly with all instructors
  • Ability to keep internal information and evaluations confidential
  • If you see something, say something. IF there is a problem, drama or a morale issue that is impacting the team or performance that you think we should know about - please tell us
  • Ability to lead by example in all of the above
  • Ability to be a point of contact and help with team communications (slack, text etc.)

Logistics:

  • Lauren is your main point of contact for any logistics, questions or concerns in this role.
  • Use the group email and regular check ins for anything that everyone should have eyes on.
  • You will be paid $24 for the time you spend on the following:
  •  Time spent in internal MAC management meetings
  •  Time spent filling out evaluation sheets and communicating with instructors ○ Time spent coordinating with Sr. Instructors

MAC TRAINING:

  • During MAC Training (8-10 weeks) you can expect to allocate between 4-8 hours a week between mic practices, zoom meetings, a weekly check in call and communicating with Sr. Instructors.
  • During trainings, Lead Instructors are paid $50/hour and will be paid in two payments: $2,000 at the beginning of training and $2,000 at the end of training
  • In the three months after a training cycle, you can expect to spend between 2-6 hours a week between reviewing workouts, new instructor check ins, a class evaluation, a weekly check in call and communicating with Sr. Instructors.
  • Hours billed at $25/hour in tracking sheet
  •  In the time when there is no new instructor training, and the newest instructors are up and running, you can expect to allocate between 1-4 hours a week between a class evaluation, a weekly check in call and communicating with Sr. Instructors.
  • Hours billed at $25/hour in tracking sheet
  •  If hours exceed 6 in a non-training week, let Lauren Meyer know - we don’t want to burn you out and will find a way to streamline our processes or address what is taking up a lot of time.
