SUMMARY

Sets up and operates machine to produce acceptable product according to Mueller’s process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Accepts materials for each assigned job, reviews and evaluates prior to beginning.


• Reads job specifications (job traveler) to determine machine adjustments, material requirements and to fully understand process prior to beginning each operation.  Fills out the sequence at every operation's completion. 


• Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.


• Positions work piece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade.


• Activates machine and obtains first run work piece, inspects part, and verifies dimensional tolerances before continuing to run.


• Selects and sets speed and feed of machine according to type of operation and specified material and finish.


• Follows up with team lead to verify any questions if necessary.


• Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction. Completes first piece and last piece comparisons throughout the run.


• Performs operation to acceptable quality standards, packs/stacks/marks parts if required.


• Follows all safety policies and procedures.


• Accurately completes all documentation as required to complete each job.


• Performs housekeeping duties around work center to avoid slips, trips, and falls.
