Description

  • Overview:

    Maintenance Associates support program operations and facility maintenance at Scattered-Site housing properties. They assist in maintaining a safe, professional environment, addressing disruptions, and ensuring guest security through problem-solving, empathy, and de-escalation. Duties include conducting rounds, reporting maintenance needs, performing basic repairs (e.g., changing lightbulbs, replacing smoke alarm batteries), coordinating check-ins, conducting property checks, light cleaning, and conflict resolution. They also communicate policies and procedures to guests and staff. This position works closely with shelter leadership and clients.

    Work Location and Schedule: This is a full time position scheduled for Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm. The role will report to a main site and then be dispatched to various Scattered-Site Bridge Housing locations in the area.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Technical and Maintenance Proficiency
    •    Basic knowledge of facility maintenance, including changing lightbulbs, replacing batteries, and performing light cleaning.
    •    Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems to identify and resolve issues.
    •    Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
    •    Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas and facilities
    Resident Support
    •    Provide information and guidance on site rules and available resources.
    •    Offer basic conflict resolution and de-escalation support as needed.
     Safety and Security
    •    Enforce shelter policies to ensure compliance and respect among residents.
    •    Respond to emergencies and report incidents promptly to supervisors.
    Data Collection
    •    Maintain accurate records, conduct thorough property checks, and report maintenance needs.
    •    Update inventory records as required.
    •    Follow all data-related protocols and organizational procedures.  
    Compliance and Goal-Meeting
    •    Consistently meet all assigned productivity and outcome goals. 
    •    Comply with all contracts, funder requirements, and City Net procedures and policies.
    •    Represent City Net in a professional manner.
    •    Meet or exceed all goals and requirements established by the assigned supervisor and Programs Director for this position.

    •    Will be required to drive a company vehicle. For insurance purposes, must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, and must pass a Motor Vehicle Report.

     
    Physical and Mental Demands
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 1/3 of the time Must be able to traverse rough outdoor terrain at least 2/3 of the time
    • Must be able to move oneself quickly in certain urgent/emergent situations (e.g. to avoid falling or projected items, or to administer Naloxone/Narcan to a client who has overdosed)
    • Must be able to inspect paper and electronic documents and accurately communicate their contents and connotations to various audiences
    • Must be able to detect and recognize approaching visitors and recognize clients, community partners, and staff
    • Must be able to complete assigned tasks without direct supervision
    • Must be able to exercise independent judgment and make decisions within their position’s scope of authority Must be able to perform under stress and/or in emergencies
    • Must be able to work effectively and efficiently in high stress and conflict situations.
    • Must be able to simultaneously address multiple complex problems.
    • Must be able to work and sustain attention with distractions and/or interruptions.
    • Must be able to maintain regular attendance and be punctual
    • Must be able to perform in situations requiring speed, deadlines, or productivity quotas
    • Will be required to drive a company vehicle
    • Must be able to move furniture, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds
