Job Description

The Maintenance II position works under the supervision of the Director and/or Manager. Performs installation, service, calibration, evaluation, documentation, and preventative maintenance to various equipment including, but not limited to, ice machines, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety systems, hospital beds, stretchers, and exam tables.

Responsibilities

  • Performs installation, service, calibration, evaluation, safety inspection, documentation, and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of equipment and building systems, including but not limited to ice machines, HVAC components, plumbing systems, electrical systems, life safety systems, exam tables, and related equipment.
  • Accurately diagnoses malfunctions and performs repairs on complex equipment and building systems; completes basic to intermediate plumbing, electrical, and appliance repairs.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable building codes, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements from applicable healthcare governing bodies.
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance and responds to dispatched general maintenance service calls.
  • Completes accurate and timely documentation of all work performed in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Orders parts and materials or coordinates external service as needed to complete repairs, including consulting with manufacturers or vendors’ technical support staff and adhering to established organizational purchasing policies.
  • Performs routine inspections of building systems, facilities, and grounds and identifies deficiencies requiring corrective action.
  • Provides education and guidance to staff and customers regarding proper equipment operation and basic care.
  • Coordinates work activities with other departments, contractors, and vendors to ensure safe and efficient completion of work.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including debris and trash removal, material handling and storage, floor sweeping, and moving or lifting materials and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

     

Education

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent - Required


Work Experience

  • 2 Years - General facility maintenance or related HVAC, electrical, & plumbing equipment - Required

     


Licenses and Certifications

  • Driver's License - Valid In State - Required Upon Hire
  • Universal EPA CFC Certification - Required within 180 days
  • Driver's License - Valid In State - Missouri Class E or equivalent Driver's License - Preferred Upon Hire
  • OSHA 10 - Required within 90 days


Travel Requirements

  • Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed. - Required

Skills and Abilities
 

Essential Technical/Motor Skills

  • Pneumatic controls and DDC controls; communicate, use hand and electrical tools, weld, cut and adjust running equipment.
  • Basic computer skills
  • General knowledge in the use of power and hand tools.

  • Communicate and speak respectfully


 

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Walking, standing, bending, stooping, lifting and reaching, climbing steps\ladder, pushing, pulling (50-250 lbs.), coordination, reaching, using hands, lifting 50 lbs., 20-20 vision correctable with ability to distinguish colors; hearing, ability to remain seated
