Description
The primary responsibility of Maintenance Mechanic I is to perform routine maintenance tasks and day-to-day repair work across the facility. This role ensures equipment and infrastructure are functional, safe, and meet operation standards
Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30am - 4pm | Weekly on call rotation every 6 weeks
Essential Functions

• Complete daily work orders and preventative maintenance logs
• Support major equipment overhauls and facility improvements
• Respond to on-call maintenance needs as scheduled
• Promote workplace safety and maintain clean, hazard-free environments
• Assist with snow removal and seasonal upkeep
• Be present and available to perform assigned duties
• Complete in-service requirements as specified in the Personnel Policy Handbook
• Dress appropriately in line with the dress code
• Other duties as assigned

• Standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and climbing up to 30 feet
• Lifting and carrying up to 80 pounds
• Good manual dexterity for tools and mechanical work
Requirements
- High school graduate, GED required
- Valid Virginia’s driver license
- Live within 30 minutes of Bridgewater Retirement Community
- Experience: 3+ years in one or more trades OR 5+ years in general maintenance OR a combination of education and experience sufficient to demonstrate competence
