Job Description
Infrastructure Precast, Inc.is an equal opportunity at-will employer seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment and Fleet Mechanic to join our growing team. This full-time, on-site role will be scheduled 12PM (noon) – 8:30PM and responsible for maintaining and repairing large trucks, trailers, and production related equipment. This role is critical to ensure safe, reliable operation of over-the-road trucks, yard trucks, mixers, and material handling equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, including dump trucks, tractor-trailers, mixers, and flatbeds
• Perform preventative maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and hydraulic systems
• Service and repair precast plant equipment, such as forklifts, loaders, cranes, and other material-handling machinery
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure fleet compliance with state and federal regulations
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, including lighting, starters, alternators, and onboard diagnostics
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
• Respond to breakdowns and perform emergency or field repairs as needed
• Communicate equipment status and repair needs to supervisors and operations staff
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and environmental regulations
• Keep tools, shop, and work areas clean and organized
• Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED (technical school training preferred)
• 3–5 years of experience as a heavy-duty or diesel mechanic
• Hands-on experience with large trucks and trailers
• Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
• Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports
• Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or ability to obtain)
• Experience in the precast concrete or construction materials industry, preferred.
• Experience with cranes, forklifts, or heavy industrial equipment preferred
• Weld or fabrication skills preferred.

Working conditions / Physical Requirements
• Industrial plant setting with exposure to concrete, dust, and machinery.
• Candidates should be able to work in various environments.
• Standing for long periods of time with frequent movement through the plant.
• Exposure to noise, chemicals, or machinery, as applicable for the work being performed.
• Use of PPE (i.e. gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and/or ear protection).
• Ability to lift heavy objects on a regular basis, if required.
• Ability to complete repetitive tasks, as appropriate.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Ability to work various work shifts and overtime, as required to meet project deadlines.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Comfortable working around heavy machinery and industrial environments.
