The Onsite Maintenance Technician II will perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of a building in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting; HVAC maintenance; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform basic mechanical work and repairs.
  2. Reference blueprints and/or schematic drawings for machinery work/assembly.
  3. Perform basic electrical work, repairs, and can read a volt/amp meter.
  4. Be familiar with and maintain tools and parts in the proper storage location in the Maintenance department.
  5. Complete all required Maintenance documentation. Input work orders via the PM System and INFOR system daily.
  6. Perform preventative maintenance per the PM Sheets generated from the PM System. Input work order and PM completion in the PM System.
  7. Perform basic math calculations.
  8. Use measuring devices accurately including micrometers, calipers, height gages, scales, and tape measures.
  9. Possess basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  10. Possess basic knowledge of machine operation and be able to identify when to stop production and fix immediately or when to schedule Maintenance down time in the future.
  11. Must be able to read and identify the label of Maintenance parts.
  12. Work quickly under pressure to return the machine to production.
  13. Responsible for complying with all safety rules and requirements of the Company to include but not limited to lockout/tagout without exception, proper lifting, and material handling procedures.
  14. Responsible for reporting any unsafe conditions and/or equipment were observed or notified of by another Team Member or visitor.
  15. Works under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.
  16. Troubleshooting problems whenever issues arise.
  17. Support Technicians and Team Leaders.
  18. Must be able to use basic machine shop equipment.
  19. Must be able to use fabrication equipment, such as welders, torches, shears, and brakes.
  20. Maintenance Mechanic II & III - Perform advanced mechanical work and repairs.
  21. Maintenance Mechanic II & III - Leading and/or assisting other Maintenance Mechanics and Machinists, when needed.

The Maintenance Technician performs work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of the building in repair.

  • Ability to obtain certification for operating a forklift

Authority for Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality

  • This position has the authority and responsibility to stop any process that poses a risk to the safety and health of personnel, causes significant impacts to the environment, or affects product quality with an impact on customers.
  • They must ensure that established procedures within the Integrated Management System are followed before resuming operations.

Environmental Management and Spill/Emission Control

  • They have the authority to stop processes if they detect fluid spills or abnormal emissions that may cause negative environmental impacts.
  • They must immediately notify the relevant department for correction and follow-up.
  • They are responsible for the proper disposal of various types of waste generated in their work area, in accordance with established environmental procedures.

Regulatory Compliance and Improvement of the Integrated Management System

  • Within their area of responsibility, they must ensure compliance with standards and regulations regarding Quality, Safety, and Environment.
  • They contribute to the management and continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System by participating in audits, reporting deviations, and proposing improvements.

Licensing Requirements:

  • Certificates/Licenses/Registration: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • For level I, II, or III, the job experience will be considered in lieu of the Industrial Maintenance/Electricity certification
  • Maintenance Mechanic II – Industrial Maintenance certification and two years Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Position Supervised or Directed:

  • Reports to Maintenance Manager. 

Qualifications, Experience requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, hydraulics and HVAC.
  • Basic knowledge of Pneumatics/Hydraulics

General Requirements:

  • Able to travel to other divisions when required. 
  • Detailed and hands-on oriented.
