Description
Responsible for maintenance of facility and equipment as assigned including preventative maintenance and urgent repairs as needed to machines, building, and grounds. Helping to meet production and facility needs as well as ensuring that safety and quality standards are met.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a team in support of the manufacturing operations with a goal of increasing productivity and decreasing downtime and waste.
- Responsible for adherence to all quality assurance program related to maintenance.
- Must be able to weld and be innovative with machine design and fabrication when needed.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components or machinery and equipment.
- Follows electrical code, manuals., schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
- Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.
- Communicate findings and plan repairs with management.
- Use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Knowledge of OSHA and general safety compliance standards.
- Preform regular inspections and preventative maintenance of machines equipment, building, and grounds.
- Communicate with management regarding building and machine needs.
- Enforces and adheres to company policies, rules, safety practices and regulations.
- Follow all company safety practices and maintain a clean work area to ensure a safe work environment.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned and assist with production.
Education and/or Experience:
- High-school or equivalent
- Must be detailed oriented with strong organizational skills and intermediate math skills
- Solid interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills
- Able to follow verbal or written instruction
- Forklift license or ability to obtain one within first 3 months
- Ability to handle emergency and pressure sensitive situations
Physical Requirement/Work Environment:
- Prolonged standing or in a stationary position
- Exposed to sound or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
- Bending, kneeling and stretching to reach material and to move equipment
- Lift/move/transport items more than 30 pounds
- Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders
- Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and various environmental conditions
- Wear all required PPE when necessary
