We are seeking a motivated and service-driven Manager-in-Training (MIT) to develop into a Marina Manager role. This structured training position provides hands-on experience in marina operations, customer service, staff supervision, and facility management. The ideal candidate is eager to lead, enjoys working in an outdoor waterfront environment, and is committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Facilities
- Assist in day-to-day marina operations, including slip assignments, dock maintenance, and fuel dock services
- Learn marina systems, reservations, billing, and recordkeeping
- Support maintenance of docks, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe and clean environment
- Help ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Provide exceptional service to boaters, guests, and tenants
- Handle inquiries, reservations, and conflict resolution professionally
- Build strong relationships with marina customers and community members
- Shadow and assist Marina Manager in supervising employees and seasonal staff
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training processes
- Help coordinate staff schedules and daily tasks
- Assist with tracking revenue, expenses, and inventory
- Learn budgeting, reporting, and point-of-sale systems
- Support fuel sales, retail operations, and billing accuracy
- Promote a safe working environment for staff and customers
- Assist in implementing emergency procedures and safety drills
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations
Training & Development

Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of experience in customer service, hospitality, marine, or related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Supervisory or leadership experience
- Knowledge of boating, marina operations, or marine safety practices
- Basic mechanical or maintenance skills
