General Position Summary
The Product Owner – Manager is a key leadership role responsible for guiding a Scrum Team, some of whom are direct reports, in delivering maximum value to business stakeholders. This position operates within an Agile practice, leveraging SCRUM to align business goals with technology solutions and ensure successful product delivery.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, ensuring that their needs and priorities are understood, communicated, and reflected in product development initiatives.
- Own product backlog and quarterly plan based on close collaboration with business partners.
- Effectively communicate to and lead a broad range of people at multiple levels within the organization.
- Works closely with other Product Owners to ensure product dependencies are synchronized.
- Partner with Scrum Master to lead, mentor, and develop a Scrum Team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Provide coaching and support to ensure team members understand their roles and responsibilities within the Agile process.
- Drive the team’s focus on delivering incremental value through iterative development and regular feedback cycles. Champion a customer-centric approach to prioritize features and enhancements that align with business objectives.
- Promote and implement Agile best practices, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and review ceremonies. Ensure adherence to the principles and processes of the Scaled Agile Framework.
- A critical Change Agent driving organizational change management, standardizing tools and applications and enforcing new processes.
- An innovator and an influencer.
Job Required Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in an Agile environment.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of the following areas with Microsoft D365: Finance, Supply Chain Management, Distribution, Warehousing, Inventory Management, Retail Sales, and Merchandising.
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps.
- Experience writing epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Track record of driving Quarterly Planning, setting priority, helping drive business value and IT complexity.
- Advanced skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
- Ability to anticipate issues based on experience to help the team avoid or resolve the issues.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including active listening and the ability to influence or persuade others in positive or negative circumstances.
- Knowledge of common business applications and collaboration tools.
- Experience leading teams, with direct reports, in a scaled Agile framework.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, principles, and tools.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes, critical thinker and problem solver.
