What We'll Need

The Manager, Solution Engineering & Architecture – International Technology leads the engineering and architecture practice that enables Wingstop’s international growth. This leader translates business priorities into scalable technology solutions by building high-performing engineering teams, establishing architecture and engineering standards, and leveraging the right mix of in-house development, strategic partners, and commercial technology to deliver business value efficiently and at scale.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the Solution Engineering & Architecture function, providing technical leadership across restaurant technology, digital platforms, data, integrations, AI, and emerging technologies.
  • Build and develop a high-performing engineering organization by establishing technical standards, coaching engineers, evolving team capabilities, and creating an environment of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive technology strategy and solution delivery by translating business priorities into scalable architectures and leading engineering execution across in-house development, staff augmentation partners, SaaS platforms, commercial applications, and hardware vendors.
  • Make sound Build, Buy, and Partner decisions, balancing customer value, engineering capacity, implementation speed, scalability, and total cost of ownership.
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Project Delivery, Operations, and domestic technology teams to align technology investments with business priorities and ensure successful execution across international markets.
  • Lead architecture governance and modern engineering practices, leveraging AI-enabled software development, automation, and reusable engineering patterns to improve quality, speed, and efficiency.
  • Manage engineering investments and organizational growth, including budgets, vendor performance, workforce planning, and evolving the team’s structure and capabilities to support future business needs.

What You'll Need

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 8+ years delivering enterprise technology solutions.
  • 3+ years leading engineering teams, solution engineering, or technical architecture.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture, software engineering, systems integration, and cloud platforms.
  • Experience leading internal teams, vendors, and technology partners.

Preferred

  • Restaurant, retail, hospitality, or multi-unit technology experience.
  • Experience evaluating Build vs Buy technology decisions.
  • Experience with AI-assisted software development and modern engineering practices.

Within the first 12 months, this leader will:

  • Establish a clear technical direction that aligns engineering investments with International business priorities.
  • Build a high-performing engineering organization with clear ownership, strong technical standards, and a culture of coaching and continuous improvement.
  • Successfully lead engineering delivery across internally built solutions, staff augmentation partners, and commercial technology vendors while making sound Build, Buy, and Partner decisions.
  • Modernize engineering through AI-enabled development practices, architecture governance, and automation to improve delivery speed, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Build trusted partnerships across Product, Project Delivery, and business stakeholders, translating business priorities into practical technology roadmaps.
  • Demonstrate strong financial stewardship by optimizing engineering investments, vendor partnerships, and organizational capacity.
  • Leave the organization stronger by developing technical talent, evolving team capabilities, and establishing scalable engineering practices that support long-term growth.
