Job Description

Your Responsibilities as a Managing Engineer:

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and technical staff on a wide variety of Water/Wastewater infrastructure projects—from planning and design through bidding and construction.
  • Drive operational excellence by monitoring project schedules, budgets, technical quality, and team workload.
  • Strengthen and expand client relationships and workload through responsive, value-driven engineering solutions.
  • Guide and mentor staff to cultivate a high-performing team culture focused on quality, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Develop and strengthen client relationships by proactively identifying new business opportunities through networking, thoughtful engagement, proposal preparation, and client presentations, supporting the growth of our regional business development program.
  • Partner with division leadership on strategic planning, business development, and client relationship management throughout the western U.S.
  • Play a central role in talent development, succession planning, and long-term organizational sustainability.

What we're looking for:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related field)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Utah  (or ability to obtain such a license)
  • 10+ years of water/wastewater engineering experience
  • Project management experience including development of project proposals, scopes, budgets, and successful execution of engineering projects
  • Strong staff mentorship and performance management capabilities
  • Experience with strategic planning, client development, and operational oversight
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, and strong interpersonal skills
