Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have an Oregon State issued Millwright Journeyman license or:
  • Required Experience — Minimum 5 Years (Must Meet All Criteria)
    • Hydraulics & Pneumatics:
       Proficient in troubleshooting, system setup, and operational diagnostics for hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
    • Machining & Fabrication:
      Experienced in machining operations including lathe and mill, as well as fabrication skills such as layout and welding.
    • Blueprints:
      Able to read, interpret, and create engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
    • Preventative Maintenance:
      Demonstrated experience developing, performing, and improving Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs.
    • Skills Assessment:
      Must be able to successfully complete the company’s Maintenance Skills Assessment covering mechanical, machining, hydraulic/pneumatic, and fabrication competencies.
  • Ability and willingness to complete continuing education and skills‑development programs to maintain and enhance job proficiency.
  • Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing (LVL, Lumber or Wood Products)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, squatting, and stooping
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts
  • High-noise manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to airborne particles and wood dust
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will support production by maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical systems, including:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Support Veneer Clippers, LVL presses, and I-Joist production lines
  • Perform fabrication, welding, and cutting as needed
  • Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions
  • Order parts and maintain accurate equipment records
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams
  • Use computerized systems for timekeeping and maintenance documentation
  • Operate a forklift safely
  • Work overtime and weekends as needed to support operations
