Summary:
Working in close partnership with the Director of Marketing and Strategic Communications, the Marketing and Communications Manager executes high-impact marketing and communications initiatives that support admissions, advancement, enrollment, retention, community engagement, and other institutional priorities. The role emphasizes writing, communications planning, campaign execution, and digital and social media content development, while collaborating across Webb to ensure alignment, consistency, and effectiveness. The position may coordinate freelancers, vendors, student contributors, or part-time creative support but does not currently have supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Translate strategies into integrated campaigns, communications plans, content calendars, and finished deliverables across web, social media, email, print, events, and multimedia channels.
- Write, edit, and coordinate mission-centered content for admissions, advancement, institutional communications, social media, web, Webb magazine, and other school publications.
- Manage day-to-day social media planning and execution, including editorial planning, content creation, publishing, community monitoring, analytics, and recommendations for growth and engagement.
- Support the planning and production of Webb magazine by coordinating with copywriters, reviewing drafts, managing timelines, and ensuring content aligns with Webb’s voice, brand, and institutional priorities.
- Support website content updates in coordination with the Marketing and Communications team, helping ensure content is accurate, relevant, clear, and aligned with institutional messaging.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Webb and the Raymond M. Alf Museum to support institution-wide initiatives, internal communications, event promotion, presentations, leadership communications, and other key institutional messages.
- Assist in the development and execution of media relations efforts, including drafting press materials, coordinating story opportunities, and supporting outreach as directed.
- Coordinate with external vendors, freelancers, copywriters, designers, photographers, and other creative partners to produce high-quality marketing and communications materials.
- Track, analyze, and report on campaign, website, email, and social media performance, using insights to improve content, channel strategy, and audience engagement.
- Serve as a day-to-day steward of Webb’s brand voice, messaging, and visual standards across channels.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree with a focus on marketing, communications, or equivalent fields of study.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field or role, preferably in an independent school environment or other nonprofit, mission-driven organization.
Core Competencies/Skills:
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across digital and print platforms.
- Demonstrated experience executing integrated marketing campaigns.
- Experience managing social media strategy and content development.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with website content management systems and digital marketing tools.
- Experience working with external vendors, freelancers, and creative partners.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Canva.
Other Requirements:
- Regular participation in school events and evening or weekend activities
- A valid California driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
- A criminal background check is required and must be successfully completed before employment can begin.

Compensation & Benefits
The estimated pay scale represents the typical pay range The Webb Schools reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale applies to the current posting only.
