Overview:

Phoenix Health Care Management Services and Vizient Southern States are seeking a creative, strategic, and highly organized Marketing & Communications Specialist to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional who enjoys blending creativity with strategy to engage healthcare leaders, members, employees, and industry partners. What You Will Do:

Marketing and Brand Management

  • Support the development and execution of marketing and communication initiatives for Phoenix Health Care Management Services and Vizient Southern States.
  • Assist in planning and implementing marketing campaigns across digital, email, social media, website, and other communication channels.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communication materials and platforms.
  • Monitor campaign performance and provide reporting on key metrics and outcomes.
  • Maintain marketing calendars, communication templates, and project plans.
  • Support business development efforts through the creation of marketing materials and promotional resources.

Content Development and Communications

  • Create, edit, and proofread content including newsletters, brochures, presentations, website content, press releases, social media posts, email campaigns, and executive communications.
  • Develop audience-focused messaging tailored to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with leadership and subject matter experts to create compelling content that supports organizational goals.
  • Assist with organizational announcements, member communications, and leadership messaging.

Internal Communications and Employee Engagement

  • Support internal communication initiatives that enhance employee engagement and organizational awareness.
  • Develop, publish, and distribute the Phoenix Flame employee newsletter in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Assist with employee recognition programs and engagement campaigns.

Event Marketing and Member Engagement

  • Create and coordinate marketing materials for conferences, network meetings, webinars, collaboratives, and special events.
  • Develop event communications including save-the-dates, brochures, signage, agendas, digital banners, promotional materials, and attendee resources.
  • Support member engagement initiatives and recognition programs, including awards and achievement communications.
  • Coordinate event-related communications and marketing activities from planning through execution.

Digital Media and Social Media

  • Manage and update website content and digital communication platforms.
  • Create, schedule, and monitor content across social media channels.
  • Track engagement metrics and identify opportunities for increased audience engagement.
  • Monitor healthcare industry and member-related news and share relevant updates with leadership.
  • Assist with video editing, multimedia content creation, and digital asset management.

Project and Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with executive leadership, department leaders, members, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Coordinate vendor relationships, promotional item sourcing, and marketing collateral production.
  • Assist with marketing communications budget tracking and reporting.

Governance and Administrative Support

  • Maintain Board of Directors rosters, profile information, and related communication materials.
  • Support organizational communication resource management and recordkeeping.
  • Assist with special projects and administrative responsibilities as needed.

Work location: Smyrna, GA (Atlanta area)
This position requires completion of a 30-day onsite training period before transitioning to a hybrid work schedule.

Work Hours/Schedule:

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote

Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Advertising, or a related field required.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.

  • Experience developing and executing marketing and communication initiatives across multiple channels.

  • Experience creating content for internal and external audiences.

  • Experience managing social media platforms, website content, and digital communications.

  • Experience coordinating projects, events, campaigns, and stakeholder communications.

  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.


Skills and Abilities:



  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong editing and proofreading abilities.

  • Ability to create engaging, audience-focused content across multiple communication channels.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Canva, or similar design tools preferred.

  • Familiarity with content management systems, email marketing platforms, and social media management tools.

  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and website content management preferred.

  • Experience with video editing and multimedia content development preferred.

  • Familiarity with AP Stylebook standards preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and represent the organization professionally.
