Washington College is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to play a key role in supporting the Advancement Department.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Advancement Communications, the Marketing Coordinator supports the Advancement Department�s annual giving and constituent engagement efforts through the execution of those strategies. The successful candidate will be able to successfully manage competing priorities and have the highest attention to detail. This role will successfully implement communication strategies through social media platforms, the Washington College Magazine, and print materials.


Job Duties:

  • Social Media

    • Manage content planning, creation, and scheduling across Advancement social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook).
    • Develop and execute a social media content calendar to align with the Advancement Department's priorities, events, campaigns, and fundraising initiatives.
    • Create engaging content, including graphics, short-form videos, stories, reels, and written copy that reflects the Advancement Department and Washington College.
    • Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions; respond in a timely, professional, and brand-appropriate manner.
    • Track and analyze performance metrics (engagement, reach, audience growth) and provide regular reports with insights and recommendations.
    • Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and higher-education best practices to continuously improve engagement and storytelling.
    • Cultivate relationships with campus partners to align efforts for a strong social media presence.
  • Print Materials
    • Partner with the Advancement Department and Marketing and Communications team to gather content, create, and edit materials for the Washington College Magazine. Materials include alumni class notes, interviewing alumni for alumni profiles, event summaries, pulling images, verifying obituaries, and ads.
    • Assist with Advancement projects as needed, including mailers, flyers, invitations, promotional items
  • Other Responsibilities, as possible
    • Photography and editing images preferred.
    • Collaborate and coordinate videography needs through the Marketing and Communications Department.
    • Work with vendors to source promotional products for the Advancement Department.
    • Assist with Annual Giving efforts such as Giving Days (Academic and Athletic Giving Days). Tasks may include creating graphics for emails, social media, and websites, producing reels, analyzing and reporting metrics for Annual Giving efforts, and more.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • College undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years related work experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Project management skills and high attention to detail are needed in this position.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with graphic design and editing tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and InDesign), experience with content management systems (Slate), and social media platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Working Conditions:

Standard office environment.

Work Schedule/Hours:

Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m. � 4:30 p.m. In�person preferred, but remote work possible for the right candidate.

Salary: $55,000
