ABOUT SEASIDE CANNABIS CO.
Seaside Cannabis Co. is an award-winning, locally-owned adult-use cannabis dispensary in Orleans, MA. Since opening in December 2023, we have built a reputation as one of the most distinctive retail cannabis experiences on Cape Cod, known for our deli-style flower bar, the largest cold cannabis beverage selection in Massachusetts, and a genuine connection to the community we serve.
Cape Cod is a seasonal market with a loyal local base and significant summer tourism traffic. We have a strong brand, a growing customer base, and real ambition to keep building. We are looking for a Marketing Manager who can help us get there.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Marketing Manager to own the full scope of marketing at Seaside Cannabis Co. This is a senior individual contributor role reporting directly to ownership. You will be responsible for developing and executing our marketing strategy across digital, social, events, PR, and community, with full authority over how the marketing budget is allocated and which vendors or agencies we work with.
A big part of this role is making smart resource decisions. That might mean bringing on an SEO agency, selecting an email marketing platform, managing social media in-house, or working with a freelance content creator. You will evaluate the options, make the call, and be accountable for the results. Ownership will give you clear business goals and a budget to work with. How you get there is up to you.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Budget
- Build and own the annual marketing plan with clear goals, channel priorities, and performance metrics tied to revenue and customer growth.
- Manage the marketing budget. Determine where to invest, what to outsource, and what to handle internally. Evaluate vendors and hold them accountable to results.
- Track and report on campaign performance regularly with honest, data-driven analysis.
- Stay up to date on Massachusetts cannabis marketing regulations and ensure all activity remains compliant.
Digital Marketing
- Own the full digital presence including the website, SEO, email and SMS marketing, and online dispensary listings on Weedmaps, Dutchie, and Google.
- Evaluate whether digital channels are best managed through an agency, a freelancer, a software platform, or in-house, and make decisions based on budget and ROI.
- Drive foot traffic and online order volume through targeted digital strategy. You should know enough about SEO, paid search, and email marketing to evaluate vendors and identify underperformance.
Social Media and Content
- Own the social media strategy and content direction for Instagram and Facebook.
- Decide how content gets produced and by whom, whether that means managing it yourself, working with a freelancer, or coordinating with a vendor.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity that reflects who Seaside is: local, knowledgeable, approachable, and proud of what we have built.
Community and PR
- Seaside's relationship with the Cape Cod community is one of our strongest assets. You will protect and grow it.
- Build partnerships with local businesses, tourism organizations, hospitality groups, and neighborhood partners.
- Manage PR activity, whether handled in-house or through an outside contact, and drive local press coverage.
- Seaside events like Clone Fest are part of what makes us different. You will own how those moments get planned and promoted.
Events and Activations
- Plan and execute in-store events, seasonal promotions, community activations, and pop-ups that drive traffic and build loyalty.
- Manage vendors, logistics, and promotional materials from start to finish.
- Cape Cod summers bring real opportunity. Think creatively about how to bring Seaside into new spaces and conversations.
In-Store Experience
- Ensure merchandising, signage, and promotional materials are always current and on-brand.
- Keep the team aligned on active campaigns so the in-store experience reflects what we are promoting externally.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4 or more years in marketing, with real experience owning a budget and managing multiple channels or vendor relationships at once.
- Broad enough background across digital, social, email, events, and PR to evaluate outside partners, ask the right questions, and recognize when something is not working.
- Experience making resource decisions, not just executing against them. You have determined whether to hire, outsource, or use a tool, and you can articulate why.
- Background in retail, hospitality, food and beverage, or consumer-facing brands is a strong plus. Cannabis knowledge is a bonus. Genuine curiosity about the industry is a must.
- Familiarity with Cape Cod or a comparable seasonal, tourism-driven market is a meaningful advantage. Summer and off-season require very different strategies.
- Comfortable working on a small, ownership-led team with real autonomy and real accountability.
- Strong communicator. You can present a plan, justify a budget decision, and write copy that sounds like a real person.
