Colson Group USA has an opening for a Material Handler in our Albion, MI location.  The position includes manual support to production activities related to maintaining warehouse stock and assisting in the fulfillment of customer orders. The Material Handler is responsible for maintaining production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product.  This will also include verifying stock by location as part of the cycle counting program.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

•    Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
•    Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production pick lists.
•    Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering materials and supplies.
•    Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units on pick lists or packing slip.
•    Returns material and supplies to stock locations from production by verifying quantity, and processing items.
•    Verifies inventory by location based on list provided by management, returning actual counts to Cycle Count Analyst daily when complete.
•    Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.
•    Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to read, write, and follow directions
  • Ability to lift loads of 45 pounds  
  • Ability to operate (with training) an overhead crane and floor pallet jack 
  • Current and valid OSHA forklift operation certificate preferred
  • Able to work occasional weekends, holidays and evenings if needed    
  • Strong attention to detail  
  • Currently possess or ability to obtain chauffeurs license within 1 month of employment if needed
  • Previous shipping and/or receiving experience is a plus

 

EDUCATION:  

 
High School Diploma or GED preferred   
Licenses/Certificates/Designations preferred
