Job Description


A Material Handler is responsible for moving, storing, tracking, and distributing materials, products, and inventory within a warehouse, manufacturing facility, or distribution center. They help ensure materials are available where and when they are needed to support operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and unload incoming shipments.
  • Move materials to designated storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform cycle counts.
  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Label, organize, and store materials according to company procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
  • Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Operate warehouse management systems and handheld scanners.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and general warehouse duties.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous warehouse or material handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (certification may be required).
  • Basic computer and inventory management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (or as required).
  • Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Work in warehouse, manufacturing, or outdoor environments.
