Job Description

To help us continue to grow our business, we’re searching for a Material Handler who will be responsible for monitoring warehouse inventory and performing cycle counts according to inventory reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cycle counts raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, sub-assemblies, and non-conforming materials daily.
  • Ensure materials are in proper locations. Conducts searches to locate misclassified inventory. Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Open cartons, bundles, and other containers to count items and/or weigh materials to determine quantity on hand. Weigh and mark product displaying remaining product left. Test all incoming aluminum extrusions as per Receiving SOPs.
  • Report nonconforming products discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products to supervision - publish weekly and quarterly inventory metrics as required.
  • Communicate and develop process enhancements as needed (performs root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and recommends process improvements to eliminate them). Ensure that all materials are properly labeled and tagged.
  • Assist in receiving and put away process for new raw materials and packaging ensuring items are labeled appropriately when required.
  • Breakdown boxes and pallets as necessary to fit shelving.
  • Maintains inventory stocking at work centers by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock and at the appropriate work centers, recording location of inventory.
  • Verifies the accuracy of the type, quantity and quality of materials delivered to stock or work centers.
  • Notifies the Supervisor about any damaged or defective parts.
  • Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  • Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
  • If requested, receive credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity, placing materials in stock.
  • Ensure completed documents and proof of pickup is obtained for all materials returning to Vendors.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections notifying Leadership of any equipment concerns.
  • Ensures that all materials are labeled, and update labels as needed.
  • Updates Operational Support with material transactions.
  • Focus efforts on continuous improvement in conjunction with leadership.
  • Maintain attendance that is in line with the current company policy for absenteeism.
  • Assist EHS and Quality/Compliance investigations as required.
  • Report all defective material via the appropriate channels.
  • Report all Quality/Compliance concerns through the local Quality/Compliance representative and your Supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Prior experience in cycle counting, inventory control, and material handling.
  • 1-2 years’ operating a forklift with a positive safety record (must be licensed).
  • Ability to acquire knowledge of products and components and an ability to properly identify products.
  • Ability to accurately update the MRP system with material transfer data.
  • Ability to accurately label and maintain accurate labeling on materials.
