Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: The purpose of the Material Handler-Weld position is to measure and handle all materials to drawing specifications or the specifications set forth by management in a productive high paced environment.



Primary Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:




  • The primary responsibilities of the Material Handler-Weld are to fabricate all materials, and parts for the Weld Assembly area at a productive pace to prevent shop flow from slowing down.

  • Willing to work overtime with little to no notice and able to work any shift or day that production finds necessary to maintain delivery schedules.

  • Willing to complete all task given by management including those not outlined in this summary.



Environment & Working Conditions:




  • The Production area is a covered but non-climate-controlled atmosphere and exposure to the cold and hot is to be expected. Exposure to but not limited to are rain, sleet, snow, high winds, sun, and mud is likely.




  • The production area is a moderate to high noise level environment.



Physical Demands:




  • Must be able to bend, stoop, stand, crawl, work overhead or climb for extended periods of time as much as required by the needs of production.




  • Must be dependable and on time


  • Must be able to work scheduled shifts and extra hours when needed







  • Must be able to maintain a clean work area




  • Must take good care of equipment




  • Must be able to work from a priority system




  • Must have working knowledge of welding and welding techniques







  • Must be able to utilize cranes as needed for handling large items




  • Must be able to use small hand tools as necessary







  • Must be organized and keep necessary documents and prints updated with any changes




  • Must be able to work safely and follow all safety procedures and guidelines




  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions





Environment & Working Conditions:





  • Able to endure climate changes (hot and cold)





Physical Demands:





  • Able to lift 25lbs unassisted




  • Able to bend, stoop, and climb







  • Able to work while standing on concrete for up to 12 hours a day





SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:





  • Able to read and write at a 3rd grade level




  • Able to read tape measure to 1/16 increments







  • Able to pass basic math test




  • Able to pass basic fractions test




  • Able to pass power tools test
