Job Description

Position Summary: The Mechanical Foreman will participate and oversee the installation or maintenance and inspection of HVAC, Utility and Process piping systems including Sub-Contractors.

Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Act as a team leader in the execution of larger scale mechanical projects with the objective of constructing a best-in-class product
  • Ensure field installation compliance with technical specifications, approved shop drawings and submittals 
  • Perform layout and develop isometric drawings for piping systems
  • Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes or fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rules or levels
  • Test pipe and fixtures for leaks using various methods
  • Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings
  • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors
  • Additional duties as directed by job site project manager and supervisor 
  • Supervise and participate in the installations of: Heating Hot Water, Chilled Water Stream, Condensate, Compressed Air, Process Fluids, Chemical, Fuel Oil, Gasses, and other related systems
  • Measure, cut, thread or bend pipe to required angle using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, or pipe-bending machines
  • Perform proper fit-up of pipe, fittings and flanges for open root butt welding and socket welding 
  • Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances, or fixtures using hand or power tools
