Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager

 

Work Location: Wheatfield, Indiana

 

Summary:

  • Goyette Mechanical is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join our team in Wheatfield, Indiana.  This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing Mission Critical commercial and industrial HVAC/R projects from pre-construction through closeout and handover.
  • ·        This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with clients, vendors, labor, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •      Manage all phases of HVAC/R mechanical projects, including planning, estimating support, scheduling, procurement, installation, commissioning, problem-solving, closeout, handover, and documentation. 
  •      Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
  •      Coordinate with client representatives, the General Contractor, PM team, engineers, field supervisors, subcontractors, safety, labor, and vendors to ensure proper execution of work.
  •      Review drawings, specifications, changes, and submittals for accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
  •      Ensure clear communication and clarity across all aspects of the project.
  •      Working with a Project Management Assistant and/or Project Engineer, communicate and track RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
  •      Conduct and attend project meetings and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
  •      Ensure compliance with safety policies, company procedures, and applicable mechanical codes and regulations and work to promote a strong safety culture.
  •      Oversee QA/QC team and ensure work meets client’s design intent and contractual requirements.
  •      Manage project closeout, handover, including warranty documentation, processes, O&M manuals, and final billing.
  •      Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business and ensure customer satisfaction.
  •      Other duties and tasks as necessary.

 

Working Conditions
•    Principally field work on Construction job sites in jobsite trailer and on Construction site.
•    Occasional company-funded travel to Flint, MI  headquarters and/or Greater Columbus, Ohio areas.
•    Job requires occasional work outside to include in occasional inclement weather.
•    Light duty:  Some standing, light lifting, and movement on foot throughout Construction work site.  

Requirements

Candidate Qualifications:
•    3-5+ Years of Mechanical Construction Experience

•    Previous Mechanical PM experience

•    Previous Mission Critical PM and/or PM Assistant experience

•    Demonstrated track record of successful projects as the Mechanical PM

•    Experience in reading and interpreting design plans, blueprints, and/or schematics
•    Sound organizational skills with strong data and document management abilities
•    Previous mechanical contracting scheduling experience and proficiency
•    Dynamic and creative problem-solving with exceptional time management skills
•    Demonstrable leadership experience, dependable, adaptable, and self-starting
•    Motivated self-starter who takes initiative, communicates, and follows through.

•    Solid verbal and written communication

•    High proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Proficiency with construction accounting/budgeting software

•    Local to the Wheatfield, Indiana area (within 60-minute drive)

•    Previous relevant HVAC/R Project Management experience

•    Bachelor's in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field and/or commensurate PM experience.
