Job Description

The team at Louisiana Center for Women's Health is growing! We are currently hiring a compassionate and dependable Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about providing quality care for women in our community. 

SUMMARY:   

  • Assists with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. 
  • Obtains medical history and vital signs 
  • Administers medication/injections based on the orders of the Provider
  • May perform scribe duties by documenting patient encounters in real-time into the EHR as directed by the Provider. 
  • Ability to rotate through both front and back office
  • Front office duties include scheduling, checking in/out patients, insurance verification, collection of copays, answering phones, etc. 
  • Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services.
  • Conveys a positive image of the clinic. 

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Must be caring, reliable, and patient-focused
  • High school degree or equivalent required. 
  • At least 1 year of primary care office or urgent care setting preferred. 
  • At least 1 year of MA experience
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. 
  • Front office experience preferred but not required 

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 

  • Registered or Certified Medical Assistant required
