Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage the check-in/check-out process with a warm and professional demeanor.
• Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, weight, and pulse.
• Update and maintain patient records within our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
• Prepare and clean examination rooms for patient appointments.
• Assist providers with clinical tasks and patient evaluations as needed.
• Handle incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Manage prescription refill requests and coordinate with pharmacies, including handling prior authorizations for medications.
• Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with all HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Required: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Preferred: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential.
• Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting; experience in a psychiatric or mental health clinic is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on empathy and compassion.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• A thorough understanding of patient privacy and HIPAA guidelines.
