Hands on Medical Assistant

Busy Plastics and Reconstructive Practice seeking full-time Medical Assistant.
Daily tasks will include:
- Greeting and rooming patients, preparing them to be seen by the physician or physician assistant
- Assisting the physician/physician assistant with patient care
- Setting up procedure trays
- Handing off appropriate instruments and/or material during a procedure
- Instrument/syringe counts pre and post procedure
- Monitoring patients throughout treatment
- Maintain a sterile field throughout treatment
- Collecting and processing specimen
- Providing patient education
- Performing tasks within parameters of the practice via federal and state training safety regulations
- Scribing information into EHR
- Contacting patients and pharmacies
- Cleaning and stocking examination rooms
- Sterilizing instruments
- Completion of necessary patient related documents
- Answering of phones and scheduling appointments
- Miscellaneous position related duties as assigned
The MA position provides the patient with their initial clinical experience. Exceptional customer service must be provided to patients, guests and vendors at all times. Our ideal candidate is energetic, personable, detail-oriented, efficient under pressure, with the ability to learn quickly.
Ideal candidates:
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Knowledge and articulation in procedures
- Professional demeanor and attitude
- Natural inclination to take initiative
- Medical assisting experience
- Electronic Health Records (EHR) / Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
- Spanish speaking is a plus
REQUIRED:
- Excellent English verbal and written skills
- At least 1 year clinical medical assisting
- Punctuality
Experience:
- EMR systems: 1 year (Required)
- Medical office: 1 year (Required)
- hands on clinical/surgical assist: 1 year (Preferred)
