Job Summary

The Medical Assistant supports providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered primary care. This position performs both clinical and administrative duties to ensure smooth daily operations and an excellent patient experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare patients for exams, take histories, and record vital signs.

  • Assist providers with procedures, injections, and minor surgeries.

  • Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies.

  • Collect and process lab specimens and perform basic tests.

  • Schedule tests and treatments and support chart preparation.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and required compliance logs.

  • Participate in trainings, safety programs, and quality improvement efforts.

  • Support CHS’s mission and Patient Centered Medical Home standards.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Certified/Registered Medical Assistant preferred.

  • Bi-annual BLS Certification required.

Experience

  • 1–2 years of medical office experience preferred.

  • Experience with mental health or substance use disorders a plus.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 30 lbs.

  • Exposure to typical clinical conditions in a moderate-paced environment.
