We are currently seeking an eager and enthusiastic Medical Assistant to help our amazing practice grow. This is your opportunity to learn new skills and grow your career! The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge or interest in sports medicine, podiatry and the human anatomy and will be responsible for a variety of duties including scheduling appointments, initial screenings, tracking insurance billing and ensuring that the office runs smoothly. Our Medical Assistant will work directly with the office manager to make sure all patients are taken care of in a friendly and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in direct patient care activities as directed by the physician or nurse practitioners.
• Perform clerical and administrative tasks as assigned.
• Adhere to the rules and regulations of the practice; interact with patients and other physicians and staff members in a courteous, professional manner.
• Gather medical information from patients such as their age, weight, height, diet, allergies and answer patient questions on topics such as medications, diet and exercise; providing written or verbal information to patients on topics such as disease processes, medication usage, diet and exercise regimens.

Skills:

• Fast, accurate typing and word processing skills
• Exceptional customer service skills on the phone and in person
• Back office medical experience preferred, but not required
