Description
We are seeking a highly organized, versatile, and certified Hybrid Medical Assistant & Front Office Coordinator to join our fast-paced medical practice. This unique dual role splits time between back-office clinical patient care and front-office administrative operations. The ideal candidate smoothly transitions between clinical tasks and patient check-ins, ensuring excellent patient care and efficient clinic workflows. Key responsibilities include:
Front Office Administration (Approx. 50%)
- Greet patients warmly, manage the check-in/check-out process, and verify patient demographics.
- Answer multi-line phones, schedule appointments, and manage the clinic calendar.
- Verify medical insurance eligibility, collect co-pays, and process patient payments.
- Manage Electronic Health Record (EHR) data entry, scanning medical records, and processing referrals.
- Room patients, obtain accurate vital signs, and document medical histories in the EHR.
- Assist healthcare providers with examinations, minor office procedures, and treatments.
- Perform clinical tasks including blood draws (phlebotomy), injections, EKG testing, and basic lab tests.
- Prepare, sanitize, and restock exam rooms and ensure medical equipment is sterilized.
- Ensure clinic compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and HealthyU policies.
- Willingness to comply with HealthyU Clinics Value Base Care protocols and any other assigned duties
Requirements
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant certification or diploma is required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- A minimum of 1 year experience as a medical receptionist or front desk
- Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, EHR systems, scheduling systems)
- Athena Experience highly preferred
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
- Prolonged sitting, standing, bending, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
- Reliable transportation is required for all positions, as occasional travel to other clinic locations may be necessary
