Position Summary

The Medical Assistant plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of our clinic by assisting providers during on-site and telehealth appointments. This position is responsible for preparing patients for examination, obtaining medical history and vital signs, assisting during clinical procedures, and ensuring a welcoming, compassionate experience for every patient. Availability on Saturdays is required for this role.


Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00 hourly. WCC offers competitive salary and benefits including medical, dental and vision health insurance plans, 10 vacation days for first year employees, 12 paid holidays, sick leave, life insurance, a retirement plan, and an employee assistance program.


Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Certificate Program (National Association of Trade and Technical Schools or equivalent)
  • 2 years of experience in community health or similar setting; Pediatrics experience highly preferred
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required

Essential Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during visits and minor procedures
  • Accurately document patient information and manage records in the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Perform vital signs, vision tests, and immunizations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and medical supplies
  • Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA, infection control, and emergency protocols
  • Interact with patients and staff in a professional and caring manner consistent with WCC’s mission
  • Complete additional duties as assigned in support of WCC's mission
