Engineering

Bangalore,

Req.Num.: 31817

Hungry, Humble, Honest, with Heart.
The Opportunity
This role sits within the Nutanix Core Data Path (CDP), the foundation that powers Nutanix's distributed storage. You'll help design and build the software that lets customers and internal products provision, manage, and consume storage at scale, on top of a high-performance distributed system.
The underlying Nutanix Distributed Storage Fabric (NDSF) is a high-performance, shared-nothing distributed file system that powers hyper-convergence and hybrid-cloud solutions. Your work spans the system internals and services that make this storage powerful yet simple to use, with an emphasis on well-designed, consistent, and resilient software across the stack. It's a great opportunity for an early-career engineer to grow deep expertise in distributed systems, storage, and large-scale software design.
The Role
  1. Design and develop reliable, efficient, high-performance software for large-scale enterprise and hybrid-cloud storage.
  2. Translate high-level designs (HLD) into low-level designs (LLD) and production-quality implementations, with guidance from senior engineers.
  3. Build clean, scalable services and workflows with a focus on consistency, resiliency, and a great customer experience.
  4. Develop a working understanding of complex distributed systems and design solutions for real customer requirements, including performance, scale, and resiliency.
  5. Write clean, efficient, maintainable, well-tested code. Participate in code reviews and learn best practices in system design, development, and testing.
  6. Collaborate with development, QA, documentation, and product management teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Engage with customers and support when needed to triage and resolve production issues.
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related Engineering field.
  • [MTS2] 1.5-3 years of relevant software development experience.
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Golang, and Java.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Exposure to distributed systems concepts and good design/implementation practices.
  • Familiarity with HLD/LLD concepts and a Linux development environment, Git, and modern development workflows.
  • A growth mindset, strong communication skills, and a hungry-and-humble attitude with a desire to work as part of a dynamic, collaborative team.
The Team
The CDP team was the first team created at Nutanix and owns the foundation of the Nutanix Distributed Storage Fabric (NDSF), a high-performance, shared-nothing distributed file system. Within CDP, this team builds and maintains the software and orchestration that let customers and products manage storage safely and at scale across cluster topology changes.
Primary technology stack: C++, Golang, Java.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e., San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources. Workplace type may vary based on location and team requirements. Please speak with your recruiter for details.
