The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, established in 1885, consists of 16 branches and one destination camp and employs over 2000 staff - all dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected, and secure children, adults, families and communities.
We are seeking an energetic and relationship-driven Membership Director to join our team at the Plano Family YMCA. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Membership Director manages the membership and childwatch departments as well as all membership related experiences & activities within the branch operations in accordance with the purposes & policies of the Association for the Plano Family YMCA.  This role oversees promotional initiatives aimed at attracting new members, and is responsible for managing the approved budget. The incumbent will serve as a staff liaison to a Branch Board Committee, play an active leadership role in the branch Annual Campaign; and ensure the Plano Y is represented at all Association Membership Department meetings/events.
 
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain harmonious relationships by promoting and demonstrating caring, honesty, respect and responsibility with staff, YMCA members and program participants and the public.
Directly responsible for the hiring, training and onboarding of the Membership Service Department and Childwatch Department at the Plano Family YMCA. Ensuring the staffing and scheduling are always operating at full capacity, while the focus is on membership retention, membership satisfaction and membership growth.
In conjunction with the marketing department, this position is responsible for new sales, corporate partnerships, membership promotions, membership recognition, membership appreciation activities and community events that create a space for our YMCA image and awareness.
Accountable for management and supervision of the Membership Services staff, Childwatch staff, our Facility attendants, and maintaining a relationship and synergy with all our Program Department Directors.
Help support and promote various community programs such as Senior Lunch & Learn, Martial Arts programming and other branch events. 
Provide business administrative support for membership, programs, including preschool, and campaign.
This position is responsible for various member and program participant account issues on the front line.
Overall management and supervision of the Childwatch program, ensuring a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children as well as implementing and upholding all Childwatch policies related to child supervision, documentation, and emergency procedures. 

Responsibilities with the Annual Campaign.

 

Incumbent will implement all YMCA policies and procedures for risk management/ safety for all staff, volunteers and participants.

Perform all other duties assigned by the Executive Director or procedures assigned by the Association.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or 4 years experience and/or equivalent work experience in customer services industry.

    Must have demonstrated experience in attracting and retaining members.

    Must have demonstrated knowledge in member engagement.

    Should have demonstrated knowledge in the following segments: cross promotion, team leadership, knowledge in youth & teen fitness and membership retention.

    Ideal candidate will have experience in supervising, training, and motivating team members.

    Must be a dynamic leader with an engaging personality and willing to take initiative in building relationships with guests or members about the benefits of the YMCA.

    Must have experience with Office 365; Word and Excel.
