About the Role:
The Mine Dozer Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing and mining operations at Blue Mountain by expertly operating heavy dozer machinery to move earth, clear debris, and prepare clay mining sites for extraction activities. This position requires precision and safety awareness to ensure that all earthmoving tasks are completed efficiently while minimizing environmental impact and adhering to regulatory standards. The operator will collaborate closely with site supervisors and other equipment operators to maintain smooth workflow and support production targets. Additionally, the role involves routine inspection and maintenance of the dozer to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime. Ultimately, the Mine Dozer Operator contributes significantly to the overall productivity and safety of the mining operation through skilled equipment handling and proactive site management.
Responsibilities:
- Operate dozer machinery to move soil, rock, and other materials according to site plans and safety protocols.
- Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on the dozer to ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and team members to coordinate earthmoving activities and optimize workflow.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and environmental guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly to maintenance and supervisory personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including hours operated and any incidents or maintenance activities.
- Assist in site preparation activities such as clearing land, building access roads, and creating berms or stockpiles.
Job requirements:
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Must have own means of transportation to and from work.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid heavy equipment operator certification or equivalent experience operating dozer machinery.
- Minimum of 2 years experience operating dozers or similar heavy earthmoving equipment in a mining or construction environment.
- Basic understanding of mining site safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret site plans and operational instructions.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks and work in outdoor conditions for extended periods.

Schedule:
- Monday-Friday 7am-3pm.
- OT required during peak season
- Flexibility in schedule during winter
