About the Job:
We are seeking a dedicated Mine Safety Representative to support our commitment to a safe and productive work environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with company safety policies and MSHA regulations while promoting a strong safety culture among all employees and contractors.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular field safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Identify and mitigate workplace hazards, ensuring compliance with MSHA and company safety standards
- Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action development
- Deliver safety meetings, toolbox talks, and assist with training programs
- Monitor and enforce the proper use of PPE and safe work practices
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and training teams to drive continuous improvement in safety performance
- Assist in emergency response preparedness and drills when needed
- Assist in maintaining accurate safety documentation and reports
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior mining or heavy industrial safety experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of MSHA regulations and safety best practices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
- Current MSHA certification or ability to obtain one
- First aid/CPR certification preferred
Additional Information:
- Hourly Rate Range: $36.50 – $44.75 (DOE)
- Quarterly bonus up to $4,100 (up to $16,400 annually)
- Full benefits on day 1 (medical, vision, dental, employee assistance program, Teladoc service)
- 6% dollar-for-dollar employer match to 401k or Roth, immediate vesting
- Bus service from Lovelock, Fallon, and Winnemucca
- Travel pay for those outside of bus service
