Nature and Scope of Job
The Lab Systems Administrator is a high level, fully remote role responsible for administration, maintenance, and master data activities specifically for the MODA platform in support of the Massachusetts Biologics Operations (MBO) site. This role maintains system workflows, handles instrument interfaces, provides first tier remote end user support, and coordinates closely with Global system owners regarding system changes and communications. All requests, issues, and changes are managed through the site's IT ticketing and change management system, ServiceNow. MODA experience is a mandatory requirement for this role. This is a contract to permanent opportunity. Candidates local to the Lexington, MA area are preferred given the potential for onsite work upon conversion.
Primary Responsibilities
- Workflow Maintenance: Maintain and update workflows within the MODA system to ensure seamless daily laboratory operations.
- System Integration: Assist with MODA system and instrument integrations, execute configuration changes, and coordinate technical requirements with the Global DD&T function.
- Master Data Management: Perform MODA master data updates to support routine business changes and site improvements, and resolve complex master data issues.
- System Administration: Execute routine MODA system administration activities, manage user accounts, and maintain system stability.
- Documentation & Verification: Create and maintain method verification scripts and system documentation to support new MODA functionality and routine software updates.
- End User Support: Provide first tier remote application support to resolve daily end user questions, system errors, and usage issues.
- Validation & Projects: Support validation activities for ongoing site projects and execute instrument to MODA configuration interfaces as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
- Technical Decision Making: Apply extensive knowledge of MODA to evaluate whether configuration or process changes impact data integrity or the validated state of the software.
- Business Collaboration: Partner closely via remote collaboration channels with laboratory personnel to understand actual system utilization and proactively recommend process or configuration improvements.
- Work cross functionally with global teams on master data and local configurations, and collaborate closely with manufacturing partners, quality, and other stakeholders given the highly customer focused nature of the group.
- Proactively raise concerns to stakeholders when deadlines or target dates are at risk of being missed.
- Support a small, close knit local LIMS team, stepping in as needed to help get the job done.
Qualifications
- MODA experience is mandatory for this role.
- 3 to 5 years of experience working within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
- Extensive hands on configuration, administration, and development experience specifically with the MODA platform.
- Strong working knowledge of ServiceNow change management workflows, HP ALM, and remote collaboration tools. ALM experience is a strong plus but not required.
- Key skills: LabWare LIMS and MODA.
- Cross functional capability is key, with the ability to work effectively with manufacturing partners, quality, and other stakeholders.
- Comfortable speaking up if deadlines or target dates are at risk of not being met.
- Willingness to jump in and support a small, high performing local LIMS team as needed.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific or technical discipline. The degree requirement may be flexible depending on relevant experience.

Compensation
Salary/Hourly Rate Range (W2): USD 75.00 - 90.00
The base salary/hourly rate range represents the anticipated low and high end of USDM's compensation range for this position. Actual salaries/hourly rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. The compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described based on market survey data or budget.
Full time employees are eligible for health, vision, and dental insurance, life insurance, short and long term disability, hospital indemnity, accident, and critical care coverage. Both full and part time employees, who are at least 21 years of age, are eligible to participate in USDM's 401k plan. Full and part time employees may be eligible for paid time off.
