The pour head operator is responsible for operating and maintaining pour head equipment used in the molding process to ensure safe, accurate and efficient production of molded components. The pour head operator must adhere to strict safety guidelines, maintain equipment cleanliness and collaborate with team members to meet production goals to minimize downtime. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate quality issues over 2-way radios
- Run offline molds
- Report if molds need cleaning or repair
- Maintain pour head throughout the shift
- Put proper tilt and airbag setting on carriage
- Enter programs into computer
- Document any changes to process in books for specific molds
- Attend morning huddles
- Troubleshoot
- Know and understand correct pour patterns
- Look up and verify mold programs daily
- Shut down procedure
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 1 year manufacturing experience
- Fluency in English, both written and oral
