Job Description

Drives the Bank’s financial performance by originating high quality residential mortgage loans while delivering a high-touch, relationship-driven client experience. Responsible for managing the full mortgage lifecycle from initial consultation through closing, while building strong client relationships and maintaining a consistent pipeline. This role supports the Bank’s growth by expanding lending opportunities, enhancing community presence, and ensuring a seamless and compliant customer experience.

Pay Range

Compensation is incentive-driven and aligned to individual production, loan quality, and overall performance.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute business development strategies to generate residential mortgage opportunities through community outreach, networking, and referral partnerships
  2. Maintain an active presence within assigned markets to build relationships and generate lending opportunities
  3. Travel regularly for business development, networking, and community engagement activities
  4. Build, manage, and maintain a strong pipeline of mortgage applications to meet production and service level expectations
  5. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering a high-touch, responsive experience throughout the lending lifecycle
  6. Interview applicants to assess financial needs and recommend appropriate mortgage solutions
  7. Collect, review, and validate documentation required for loan applications and underwriting review
  8. Pre-screen applicants by reviewing credit, financial information, and collateral to assess preliminary eligibility
  9. Partner with Mortgage Operations and underwriting teams to support timely processing and closing of loan files
  10. Maintain proactive communication with clients to ensure completeness of files and manage expectations
  11. Review and explain loan disclosures to ensure client understanding and compliance
  12. Collaborate with Retail, Business Banking, and other internal teams to identify cross-sell opportunities
  13. Participate in community and business development activities to enhance the Bank’s visibility and reputation
  14. Utilize systems such as Encompass LOS, CRM platforms, and pipeline tracking tools to manage workflow
  15. Monitor pipeline performance to ensure timely follow-up and adherence to service standards
  16. Stay current on regulatory requirements, market trends, and competitive products
  17. Ensure compliance with all lending regulations, internal policies, and quality standards

 

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in Business, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years of residential mortgage lending or related experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Strong analytical and financial assessment skills
  • Knowledge of mortgage products, lending regulations, and documentation requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a consistent pipeline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and loan origination systems

 

Licensing Requirements

  • Must be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) in accordance with the SAFE Act
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required state licensing and continuing education requirements
