Second Shift
Position Description: The primary purpose of the role is the operation of one of the printing machines. Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving minor machine issues and escalating those issues beyond their expertise level to the Shift Maintenance Technician.
Printer Operator Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
- Operation of printing machine to meet all quality and production standards, minimizing scrap and downtime. Perform all material loading and machine adjustments required for changeovers.
- Troubleshooting minor machine problems and escalating other problems to the Shift Maintenance Technician.
- Gathering and loading all supplies and raw materials into the machine and the packaging of finished rolls as detailed in the shop order specifications.
- Ensuring that labeling, packaging, and palletizing of all rolls produced on their shift meets all quality standards.
- Ensuring that all safety devices are functioning properly, and all safety procedures are followed.
- Control and adjust machine settings as needed using both computer interface and manual adjustments.
- Performing First Article Inspections for other Operators and ensuring that other Operators perform a FAI on your changeovers.
- Controlling the printing ink and final printed image quality and consistency.

- Performing all job functions in a safe manner, following, and enforcing all TRIDENT policies and procedures.
- Leading housekeeping efforts and always maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Identifying and immediately communicating personnel and safety issues to the Shift Supervisor and assisting with investigations and resolutions of the issues if needed.
- Communicating and working with Material Handlers to ensure an appropriate quantity and quality of raw materials is delivered to the machine as needed.
- Performing quality checks on material, comparing actual results to specifications, and communicating results in a timely manner.
- Accurate and complete reporting of production and quality data both manually and in computer systems.
- Reporting any continuous improvement opportunities to the Shift Supervisor.
