MRI Technologist – Radiology Department 

PRN /Per Diem


PTO coverage for Full-Time + Part-time staff.

Compensation: $40-$50

Job Summary



Performs various basic and advanced MRI procedures under the direction of the Staff Radiologist and departmental protocols. Provides direct patient care and safety to all patients. Performs IV injections of approved MRI contrast agents as instructed. Reviews procedures with Radiologist as needed/required.







Responsibilities




  • Performs MRI exams per department protocol

  • Performs the quality control functions related to MRI

  • Performs comprehensive MRI safety screening of all patients, visitors, staff, and non-MR personnel prior to entry into MRI Zones III and IV in accordance with hospital policy, current safety standards, and the latest MRI safety guidelines.

  • Works effectively and provides direct communication with multidisciplinary Teams & Staff Radiologists to ensure superior patient care and services.

  • Verify patient identification, medical history, and exam orders before procedures.

  • Safely administer and monitor IV contrast injections per hospital and departmental policy.

  • Monitor patient condition during and after procedures, ensuring safety and comfort.

  • Provide clear instructions to patients and families regarding procedures, preparation, and post-exam expectations.

  • Recognize and report critical findings or urgent clinical concerns promptly.

  • Maintain accurate documentation in PACS and EMR systems.

  • Maintain exam suite, equipment, and supplies in a clean and functional state.

  • Adhere to hospital infection control policies, including use of PPE and cleaning protocols.







Work Experience




  • 1–3 years of MRI experience preferred







Qualifications




  • Graduate of a 2-year accredited Radiography Program

  • Current ARRT certification

  • ARMRIT (or MRI Registry Boards eligible)

  • IEMA licensure (required)

  • BLS certification (required)

  • IV certification (preferred)

  • Experience with 1.5 T Espree MRI (preferred)
