Wages

$26.44 - $36.06 per hour depending on qualifications and level of experience

Job Summary

COPAL is hiring a Nonprofit Staff Accountant to play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to day accounting functions of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day functions of the accounting department.
  • Create invoices for contractual activities such as honorariums, speaker fees and other smaller contractual activity.
  • Monitor A/R and daily deposit activity.
  • Collaborate with directors and fundraising team on budgets for new grants including government grants.
  • Complete biweekly payroll allocations for all employees for government grants.
  • Maintain all vendor records including annual 1099 preparation annually.
  • Maintain accurate financial records relating to grants, donations and annual financial audits.

 

What You Bring

  • Previous experience with QBO (QuickBooks Online) and Microsoft Excel; you are also familiar with other software, including Bill.com and donor databases.
  • 2+ years of previous experience with nonprofit accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while executing time management skills.
  • A valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet COPAL’s driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit.
