Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC), a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization that treats and prevents substance abuse, as well as an array of other related problems, is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse with some experience with drug treatment as well as clinical experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports nursing operations by reviewing patient care issues in the residential and outpatient settings.
- Assists in reviewing staff nurse daily assignments are completed.
- Assists in the agencies’ performance improvement and audit correction process.
- Assists in the completion of nursing documentation, inputting physician orders and accurate accounting of methadone.
- Dispenses methadone medication and monitors response to and appropriateness of methadone.
- Coordinates & assists in initial and ongoing assessments of patients.
- Coordinates & assists in the educational needs of patients for the purpose and safe effective use of all FDA approved MAT options.
- Coordinates & assists in the ongoing physical well-being of patients and makes notes of specific observations.
- Assists with coordinating medical referrals according to physician’s orders.
- Assist physicians on specific medical findings.
- Completes TB testing and follows up on TB tests and reactive results.
- Coordinates & assists with follow up recommendations and referrals made in medical visits.
- Coordinates & assists medication administration records for accuracy and accountabilityof staff nurses.
- Assists in the interviewing and orientation process of new staff nurses.
- Participates in PI/UR activities as needed.
- Understands required accounting for methadone dispensing.
Schedule: M-F 6:15 am-2:45pm providing coverage to sites as needed

Education and/or Experience: At least two years of experience in a hospital or in-patient setting with 1-3 years of management experience preferred; Basic nursing and substance abuse pathology knowledge.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: State of Illinois Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with current certified CPR is required.
