Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a focus in Cardiology to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with cardiac disorders. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to manage both acute and chronic cardiac conditions in accordance with New York State scope of practice. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing complex cardiac conditions while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with cardiac disorders, including but not limited to ischemic heart disease, congestive heart failure, valvular disorders, common cardiac arrythmias, hypertensive disorders, lipid disorders, and common cardiac conditions.
  • Perform patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests such as ECG’s, and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with New York State regulations and institutional guidelines.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring, follow-up care, and chronic disease management.
  • Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care.
  • Collaborate closely with cardiologists, surgeons, primary care providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, care coordination, and patient safety efforts.
  • Adhere to all institutional policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Current New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Completed 3600 Clinical Hours
  • DEA License
  • National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP)
  • Master's degree or higher in Nursing
  • Clinical experience in Cardiology strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of endocrine disease management and evidence-based practice
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Prior experience managing complex cardiac conditions preferred
  • Experience in outpatient Cardiology practice preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems preferred
