What We Offer:

Novant Health Employer Solutions (NHES) is seeking a skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Occupational Medicine and Onsite Wellness team on a part-time basis. The APP will deliver high-quality clinical services across employer-based occupational health and wellness settings, working under physician supervision. This role requires independent clinical judgment, strong documentation skills, and a commitment to occupational health best practices.

What We're Looking For:

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

•     Current, unrestricted licensure in the State of North Carolina (NP or PA)

•     Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Family Medicine, Urgent Care, or Emergency Medicine

•     Demonstrated competency in independent evaluation and management of acute illness and musculoskeletal injury

•     Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear, professional clinical documentation

•     Proficiency with electronic health record systems

•     Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site clinic environment

•     Reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts; 24 hrs. or 3 shifts per week 



What You'll Do:

Clinical Responsibilities

•     Conduct occupational medicine evaluations including pre-placement, periodic, return-to-work, and fitness-for-duty examinations

•     Perform OSHA-mandated medical surveillance examinations (respiratory, hearing conservation, silica, HAZMAT, bloodborne pathogen)

•     Evaluate and manage work-related injuries and illnesses, including workers’ compensation cases

•     Conduct DOT/FMCSA commercial driver medical examinations (NRCME certification required or willingness to obtain)

•     Perform and interpret audiometric testing, pulmonary function testing, and vision screening as indicated

•     Complete respirator medical evaluations in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134

•     Provide onsite wellness services including annual wellness visits, health risk assessments, biometric screenings, and urgent care complaints as needed

•     Document all encounters in the electronic health record in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner

•     Collaborate with employers, HR representatives, and safety managers to support return-to-work

•     Communicate work restrictions, fitness determinations, and clinical summaries in accordance with NHES standards
