Job Description

Nurse Practitioner

Location: San Diego

Schedule
8-hour workday; no weekends; no nights; no call
Salary, Full-Time Position 


Summary
In collaboration with the physicians, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) assumes clinical responsibility for tasks performed within the NP's scope of practice. This includes: taking patient's history, performing physical examinations, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, establishing diagnosis and providing care and management for vascular surgery patients. Expected to take part in office based patient evaluations, follow-ups and coordinate care with various other entities (i.e. home health, wound care centers, imaging centers, medical equipment suppliers, etc). Expected to perform in-hospital evaluations to include initial consultations, follow-ups, rounding, and discharging. May be involved with direct patient monitoring during and post-op from office-based procedures requiring conscious sedation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent degree
  • Current California RN license
  • Current California NP certification
  • Current BLS/ACLS certifications for Healthcare providers


 
Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous NP experience strongly desired but not required
  • Current, unrestricted NP furnishing number and DEA Controlled Substance Registration (must be obtained within specified period from date of hire if candidate does not currently have furnishing # or DEA)
  • Current BLS/ACLS certification for Healthcare providers
  • One to three years of ICU/Critical Care RN experience
  • Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
